Allegation of rape in Toddler’s Cove playground, Canterbury

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a woman said she was raped in a children’s playground last night.

The incident is alleged to have happened at about 9.30pm on Friday in Toddler’s Cove playground near Whitehall Road, Canterbury.

It is reported the woman was initially approached by four unknown men before three of them left. The remaining one then assaulted her.

The suspect has been described as white, eastern European and about 18 or 19 years old.

Officers say he had tight black curly hair which covered his ears, was wearing a white tracksuit top and white bottoms and carried a small white bag around his waist.

Two of the other men with him are also believed to be white and of a similar age. The fourth man is said to have had darker skin and wore a green fleece and black trousers.

Police are continuing to pursue several inquiries to establish the full circumstances, including forensic analysis at the scene and checks of CCTV.
