Kent is once again bracing itself to face heavy rain and strong winds that could cause disruption county-wide.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the county, which comes into effect between 5pm tomorrow and runs until 6am on Thursday.

Forecasters say heavy rain and showers will likely cause disruption across Kent, accompanied by gusts of up to 50mph.

Between 15mm and 25mm of rain is likely to fall widely, but could reach a peak of 40mm in certain areas.

The deluge is expected to move north-eastwards overnight.

The Met Office says people should be prepared for the adverse weather to have a knock-on effect into Thursday morning as the downpours die down.

Meteorologists say flooding on roads could cause havoc for motorists, and warn that public transport services could face delays too.

It is also predicted that some houses and businesses could be flooded.

The latest warning comes after floods hit Kent extensively already this month.

People are being reminded to stay safe and take precautions to avoid accidents.
