Invicta East Kent AC-organised Canterbury 10-Mile Road Race to return in 2025 under new title sponsor in Furley Page

The Canterbury 10-Mile Road Race, organised by Invicta East Kent AC, will return under a new title sponsor in 2025.

Law firm Furley Page hopes to provide a team of runners and volunteers as part of their support for the race, which will make its comeback on Sunday, January 26.

Close links have also been retained with Canterbury Christ Church University. They will provide the race headquarter facilities at their Sports Centre on Pilgrims Way once more.

The last two races have sold out with last year’s providing 1,296 finishers. The organisers hope to reach the race limit of 1,500 places this time.

Glenn Mousley, the race director, said: “2024 was a challenge with a revised course but [it] provided a close race with many competitors achieving personal-bests.

“In 2025, we look forward to the race being an early test for those taking part in one of the spring marathons.”

Locally-based Cole Gibbens retained the race winner’s crown in 2024 with a time of 53min31sec, Dartford Harriers’ Barry Stephenson a close second in 53.41.

Chelsea Baker, of Bristol & West AC, was the first female finisher with 58.10, just ahead of Hastings AC’s Grace Baker in 58.24.

This was a repeat of the winners and runners-up from 2023.

There is a significant cash prize for the first three male and female runners, and also for the veteran age groups. There are prizes for the winning male and female teams, too.

On offer for those taking part in next year’s event, there is a new medal and free photographic downloads.

The race will be continuing to support Demelza Hospice Care for Children, who provide superb facilities for young people and their families.

They hope to encourage sponsored runners and will also be providing marshal support in return for receiving a cash donation from the race organisers. The entry form also gives entrants the opportunity to donate to the charity.
