Woman charged after beauty products stolen from Tesco and Sainsbury’s in Faversham

A woman has been charged after a security guard was threatened when he confronted a suspected shoplifter.

The incident happened at Tesco in Crescent Road in Faversham on Wednesday (May 29).

The security guard confronted a woman who allegedly tried to take £75 worth of beauty and cleaning products from the store and was verbally threatened.

Later that same day some £72 of cleaning products were taken from Sainsbury’s in Bysingwood Road.

Offices identified a suspect and the following day (May 30) they attended an address in Faversham and arrested a woman.

Lucille Willet, 33, was later charged with two counts of theft from a shop and one count of common assault.

The resident of Albert Road, Southsea in Hampshire was remanded in custody is to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court on today.
