Traffic held on M2 between Faversham and Sittingbourne after crash near Stockbury Roundabout

Traffic was at a standstill on the M2 this morning due to a crash.

Drivers heading London-bound on the motorway between junction 6 for Faversham and junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Maidstone were stuck in gridlock.

Police confirmed two vans were involved in a collision near the exit for the Stockbury roundabout after 7.50am.

No injuries were reported.

The incident saw the road blocked for around an hour causing miles of tailbacks. All lanes have since been reopened and the incident has cleared.

Drivers were trapped in queues stretching back to the Brenley Corner roundabout.
