Two teenagers have been charged following a stabbing which left a 19-year-old with serious injuries.

Officers were called to the assault in St Paul's Avenue, Faversham last Wednesday evening.

A man was treated at the scene by ambulance crews for injuries consistent with a stab wound and was later transferred to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Kai Theodule, 18, of Maple Gardens, Canterbury, and a 17-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – were arrested on Saturday and yesterday respectively in connection to the incident.

Police say inquiries have established the two suspects and the victim are believed to be known to each other.

Officers previously said the victim was allegedly driven at before being chased down and attacked leading to the stab wounds.

They were both charged with wounding with intent and the 17-year-old was also charged with possessing a bladed article in a public place.

The pair have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before Folkestone Magistrates' Court today.

A police spokesman said: "Between 5pm and 5.20pm on Wednesday, January 25 January, officers were called to St Paul’s Avenue where a man was treated by South East Coast Ambulance Service for injuries, including one consistent with a stab wound.

"The 19-year-old victim was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition."

Detectives are continuing with the investigation and have urged any witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

They are keen to hear from motorists with dashcam and residents with private CCTV to check for relevant footage.

A 40-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault on Thursday remains on bail to return to the police station on April 25.
