Coastguard and fire crews called to Folkestone Harbour

Swarms of emergency service workers were spotted at a harbour following reports of a boat in trouble.

Coastguard and fire crews were called to Folkestone Harbour to help a vessel suffering a mechanical fault while in the inner harbour.

Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident, which saw workers descend on the area at about 4pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for the coastguard told KentOnline: “HM Coastguard was tasked to a vessel that suffered a mechanical fault whilst in the inner harbor at Folkestone today, 24 November, at around 4pm.

“Folkestone Coastguard Rescue Team and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended on scene.

“The two people on board were both accounted for and there are no reports of injuries.”

The fire service has been contacted for comment.
