Fortunately, nobody was hurt during the incident, which saw workers descend on the area at about 4pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for the coastguard told KentOnline: “HM Coastguard was tasked to a vessel that suffered a mechanical fault whilst in the inner harbor at Folkestone today, 24 November, at around 4pm.

“Folkestone Coastguard Rescue Team and Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended on scene.

“The two people on board were both accounted for and there are no reports of injuries.”

The fire service has been contacted for comment.
