Jury discharged in Ibrahima Bah Channel crossing deaths trial at Canterbury Crown Court

The jury has been discharged in the trial of a man accused of piloting a dinghy across the English Channel in which four people drowned.

Ibrahima Bah, 19, had been on trial for three and a half weeks at Canterbury Crown Court.

The inflatable dinghy carrying more than 40 people across the Channel sank on 14 December 2022.

Mr Bah was on trial for four counts of manslaughter alongside facilitating unlawful entry to the UK.

Jurors were today discharged and a new trial is set for January 15 next year.
