A charity is appealing for pups to donate blood and help their furry friends in need.
Pet Blood Bank says it needs lifesavers to help at Shrubbery Vets in Northfleet on Sunday, December 29.
Those aged between one and eight who weigh over 25kg, and are fit and healthy are being asked to register.
Those likely to be negative blood type – which includes breeds Dobermanns, Flat Coated Retriever, German Shepherds, Greyhounds, Lurchers, Old English Sheepdogs, and Weimaraners – are particularly needed as it can be given to any dog.
Each donation can save up to four others.
A spokesperson for Pet Blood Bank said: “Christmas is all about doing a good deed and your dog can do something truly incredible – help save another dog’s life.
“Over the month of December, Pet Blood Bank sees a dip in donations as many people go away for the holidays and are busier than normal, so bringing your dog along to donate really can be the difference between life and death.”
A donation session will be held at Shrubbery Vets in Perry Street later this month.

It will take five to 10 minutes, but owners should expect their dogs to be with the team for around 35 to 40 minutes.
The pups will also receive a full health check from the vet before donating and will be spoiled with treats, attention and a goody bag and toy to take home.
