A2 coastbound blocked after crash between A2260 Southfleet Road and A227 Wrotham Road and Tollgate Services in Gravesend.

There were miles of queues after an accident on a busy dual carriageway.

The A2 coastbound was partially blocked between A2260 Southfleet Road and A227 Wrotham Road and Tollgate Services in Gravesend.

It was affecting traffic heading to Ebbsfleet International railway station as well as those coming from the Dartford Crossing or London.

National Highways posted on social media to say traffic was being temporarily held and added: “There are currently delays of 45 minutes and approx. six miles of congestion.”

It is unknown if anyone has been injured in the incident.

A police spokesperson told KentOnline: “Kent Police was called just after 4.50pm to a two-vehicle collision on the A2 coastbound near Gravesend. Officers are currently at the scene alongside South East Coast Ambulance Service.”

Two lanes were initially reopened before the carrigeway was fully opened.
