Delays easing in Greenhill Bridge Road, Herne Bay, after four-vehicle accident

Traffic heading in and out of a town centre is clearing following a four-vehicle pile-up this morning.

Greenhill Bridge Road in Herne Bay had been partially blocked with queueing traffic following the incident, which is reported to have involved four vehicles.

Traffic monitoring system Inrix says the accident was between Greenhill Gardens to A2990 Old Thanet Way, with journeys in Sea Street also affected.

Police and ambulance crews were on the scene, with it understood one person was left needing treatment.

A police spokesman told KentOnline: “Kent Police was called to a four-vehicle collision in Greenhill Bridge Road, Herne Bay at 8.20am.

“Officers attended and assisted with traffic management. The road was reopened at around 9.55am.”
