Officially set to open its doors on Saturday, November 2 at 8am, the firm says it has invested about £2.5 million into its new store.

Sam Chipendo-Kamwendo, the new Faversham store manager, said: “It’s been a long time coming, everyone in Faversham is excited to finally have a Home Bargains on their doorstep.

“[This] will be a great location for us, and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

It was confirmed in July last year the Morrisons superstore in North Lane would bring down the shutters for good and close in September that same year, shocking many members of the community.

KentOnline then exclusively revealed how Home Bargains was poised to take over the site, kicking off a 14-month wait to finally see the retailer open its new store.

According to bosses, the new shop will offer shoppers “a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh, chilled and frozen food plus an instore bakery”.

Home Bargains has more than 600 sites around the UK. There are currently 10 in Kent with nearby Sittingbourne, Canterbury and Whitstable all offering customers what the company calls “top brands, bottom prices”.
