Man arrested after dog walker taken to hospital after being hit by car in Giles Gardens, Margate

A man has been arrested after a dog walker needed hospital treatment after being hit by a car in a cul-de-sac.

The walker, a woman, is said to have suffered serious injuries in Giles Gardens, Margate.

Police were called to the scene just after 3.50pm on Friday, October 25.

Paramedics treated the woman at the scene and then took her to a local hospital for further medical attention.

Her injuries are not described as life-threatening and the dog was taken to a vet to be checked over.

The driver who is in his 30s and from Ramsgate was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit.

He was taken into custody and was later bailed to return to the police station, pending further investigation.
