People heading to the Continent from Kent this weekend are experiencing delays today.

The firm says passengers can expect delays of an hour upon check-in and a similar length of delay for departures.

One such affected traveller, Joyce McGuire from the Lake District, arrived at the terminal at 7.45am for a 9.06am train.

Fearing she would miss it, she said earlier: “We’ve not got through the first check yet and still got our dogs to check-in.

“We’re a bit fed up but at least we're early, so delays can be managed. We have a six-hour drive on the other side.

“Thankfully, we're towards the front of the queue, I dread to think how long it is now behind us. It’s moving very slowly but I think people are just in good spirits at the moment.”

LeShuttle wrote to customers on X, saying: “Apologies for the wait today, this is due to an earlier technical issue at the border control which has now been resolved.

“Please be assured we are working hard to get you away as quickly as possible. Thank you for your continued patience.”
