Lanes on the M20 have reopened but long delays remain after a vehicle reportedly overturned on the carriageway.

The London-bound stretch, just before J8 A20 Ashford Road for Leeds Castle and Maidstone Services, had been completely blocked following the incident earlier.

Traffic monitoring expert Inrix said: “Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to overturned vehicle on M20 London bound from J9 A20 Fougeres Way (Ashford) to J8 A20 Ashford Road (Leeds Castle / Maidstone Services).”

Police and ambulance have been contacted for comment.
