Commuters are being warned to expect delays of half an hour this morning after two lorries collided and closed part of the M20.

The eastbound carriageway between J8 A20 Ashford Road – the Maidstone Services turnoff – and J9 A20 Fougeres Way, Ashford has been partially closed with traffic stopped.

According to National Highways, there has been a “substantial fuel spillage across the road surface”.

Emergency services including police are at the scene.

Traffic is also slow on the opposite carriageway due to onlookers.
