Motorcyclist in hospital after crash on A20 between Harrietsham and Lenham, near Maidstone

A motorcyclist is in hospital after a serious crash this morning.

The rider was taken to a London hospital via air ambulance after colliding with a car on the A20 between Harrietsham and Lenham, near Maidstone.

Officers were called to the scene at 10.56am where the motorcyclist, a man, was treated by paramedics.

The A20 was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and was reopened at around 12.10pm.

The ambulance service have been approached for more information.

An air ambulance spokesman said: “A helicopter from Air Ambulance Charity Kent Surrey Sussex (KSS) was dispatched to Maidstone on 11th September.

“Our crew arrived at 11:33am where they worked with SECAmb and Kent Police to help treat the patient, involved in a road traffic collision.

“They then transported the patient to a major trauma centre by air with our crew accompanying them to continue delivering their care en route.”
