Second teenager arrested after two men stabbed opposite Woodlands Cemetery, Gillingham

Another teenager has been arrested after two men were stabbed near a graveyard.

The men were taken to a London hospital following the attacks in an alleyway between Sunnymead Avenue and Chicago Avenue, opposite Woodlands Cemetery in Gillingham.

One of the victims remains in a serious but stable condition while the other has since been discharged.

Officers were sent to the scene just before 3.15pm on Friday, October 25 and paramedics also attended.

Later the same day a teenage boy was arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.

On Saturday (October 26) an 18-year-old was arrested.

They have both been released on conditional bail and will have to return to the police station on January 25.

Investigators are continuing to appeal for information relating to the incident.

Detective Inspector Martin Carter said: “Officers are still seeking others who may have been connected with the incident and left the scene prior to the arrival of patrols.

“We are appealing to witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to contact our appeal line.

“We are asking motorists and residents with private CCTV to check for relevant footage that may assist our investigation.”
