Rochester man and Bromley woman jailed by Met Police after firearms recovered

A man and a woman have been sentenced after a Met Police raid on their home uncovered a weapon and ammunition.

Brandon Cole, 23, of Benenden Road, Rochester, and Sian Chambers, 24, of High Street, Bromley, appeared at Croydon Crown Court yesterday for sentencing after Cole was found guilty of possessing a firearm and ammunition with intent to danger life.

Chambers was found guilty of possession of a firearm and ammunition, with the duo now facing 12 and six years in jail respectively.

The update comes after officers first executed a warrant in Bromley back in 2022 after police intelligence suggested firearm ammunition may have been present at Chambers’ address.

A firearms recovery dog was able to lead officers to the gun and ammunition, hidden inside a Gucci box in a bedroom wardrobe.

Later analysis by specialists revealed it was a loaded, converted Retay handgun whilst messages to Cole from Chambers’ phone allowed police to swoop in and arrest Cole.

DI Lewis Sanderson of the Specialist Crime unit said: “Every illegal firearm removed from the streets of London means a life has potentially been saved somewhere and another family potentially spared a devastating loss.

"This work is so incredibly important and I am so pleased today that the sentences today reflect the gravity of these very serious offences."
