An accident involving a van and cyclists led to a huge turn-out by the emergency services.

The collision happened in Rede Court Road, Strood, near the junction with Burleigh Close, just before 4pm yesterday.

It was understood to have involved a van and two people on bicycles.

Ambulance service medics were joined by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance team.

The police also attended.

An ambulance service spokesman said: “Two patients were assessed and treated at the scene.

“One was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by road.”
