Jason Lillis makes Lordswood return as part of management team following exits of Ross Wiles and Lee Garlinge; Scott Porter and Mark Lane also aim to ignite Lords’ survival bid

Lordswood have quickly moved to appoint their new management team in their survival bid.

The Southern Counties East League Premier Division basement boys have turned to former boss and director of football Jason Lillis, who will work alongside Scott Porter and Mark Lane.

Their appointments were announced on Sunday after Ross Wiles and Lee Garlinge had departed following last weekend’s 2-1 home loss against Tunbridge Wells.

Chairman Ray Broad said: “We’re pleased to announce the appointment of our new management team Jason Lillis, Scott Porter and Mark Lane.

“We look forward to working with Jason, Scott and Mark.

“First-team coach Sam Wilson will assist the new management with the transition and then will be stepping away at the end of next week.

“We would like to place on record our thanks to Sam for all his efforts, on and off the pitch, and wish him all the very best for the future.”

Lillis, 55, is on his fourth spell at Lordswood. He first managed the club more than 15 years ago.

The move also sees a return to the dugout for former Hythe, Hollands & Blair and Whitstable manager Porter and Lane, having left fellow strugglers Lydd just days before the start of this season.

On social media, Wilson posted: “Wishing the club and new management nothing but success for the rest of the season and the future.

“It’s been a pleasure to work with the chairman, management and all the players this season - great club; great people.”

Lords, who have won just once since November 30, ironically against Lydd, are on a four-game losing run.

The new management team’s first game in charge will see them visit promotion-chasing Fisher this weekend before welcoming Glebe to Martyn Grove seven days later.
