A road was blocked in both directions after a car reportedly overturned and ended up in a ditch.

The incident occurred at Giggers Green Road, near Burmash, this morning and Eastbridge Road was blocked.

One eyewitness said there were at least six emergency services vehicles in attendance.

The police were called at 6.40am on following reports of the overturned car.

Officers attended the incident and no injuries were reported.

A police spokesman said the “car will be recovered”.

Firefighters were also called to the scene at 7.10am assist the police.

A Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Two fire engines and the water safety unit attended, and crews used specialist cutting equipment to gain access to the vehicle.

“No persons were located at the scene.”
