Drivers are facing delays of up to three hours on the M25 following a lorry fire.
There are severe hold-ups between Junction 5 and 6 near Sevenoaks clockwise as the clean-up operation continues.
The lorry which was transporting metal sheeting caught on fire around 1.30am this morning (September 20).
Two fire engines were sent to the scene and crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire around 3am using hose reel jets.
There were no reported injuries and Kent Fire and Rescue Service say the cause is not yet known.
However, the cargo remained extremely hot and lane restrictions remained in place to allow traffic to continue to move past the scene safely.
Three of the four lanes are still closed as the recovery operation continues.
Once the clean-up is finished a pavement engineer will assess the carriageway for any potential damage from the fire.
