About 20 firefighters were sent to battle a blaze in a field.

Land at Parsonage Farm, off Church Road in Eastchurch, Sheppey, was on fire this morning.

Five fire engines were sent to the blaze just before 11am.

The crews extinguished the flames and left by 12.10pm.

The cause of the blaze, which was not far from Sheppey prisons Swaleside, Elmley and Standford Hill, is unknown.
