Planning permission for a new pizza parlour has been approved.
Fireaway Pizza is to open in what used to be a beauty saloon in Broadway, Sheerness.
This will become the 15th branch in Kent, with locations in Sittingbourne, Dartford, Maidstone and Ashford to name just a few.
The site had previously been owned by Amethyst Beauty Threapy which was vacated on September 1 2020.
Up to 12 customers will be able to sit in the front of the new restaurant at one time. A takeaway service will also be offered.
The main counter and kitchen area are set to be located in the centre of the premises while a toilet and storage area will be near the back.
The chain had applied for planning permission in May 2021 but this was refused by Swale council due to the “impact on neighbouring residential properties in terms of noise and odour” on September 6, 2022.
A second application was made on September 15, 2022.
This time the promise of a carbon filtration system to control the noise and odour from the kitchen meant the case officer, Rebecca Corrigan, approved the planning permission on Tuesday, December 5.
Mario Aleppo opened his first Fireaway branch in London in 2016 and rose to fame thanks to being able to make pizzas with its handmade dough in around 180 seconds due to its 400-degree authentic pizza oven.
Now there are over 150 locations across the country.
Fireaway has been approached for comment.
