Jackknifed lorry near Nouds Lane, Teynham, blocks A2 London Road in both directions

A jackknifed lorry has blocked the A2 in both directions.

The accident in London Road near Nouds Lane, in the Teynham area, caused delays for drivers heading towards either Faversham or the village.

Pictures show a white lorry blocking both lanes with traffic piling up in both directions.

Police are at the scene after they were called around midday.

A spokesman said: “A lorry became stuck in mud after attempting a manoeuvre from a layby.”

Kent Highways posted an update just before 2.45pm saying the lanes had reopened.

It added that KCC officers and emergency services were in attendance.
