Armed police sent to Sheppey Leisure Complex, Sheerness

Armed officers were sent to a leisure complex after a man was seen with a suspected firearm.

Alarms were raised after people spotted the man acting suspiciously in Sheerness yesterday (Thursday, September 28).

Officers were able to locate the man and found he had two toy guns after searching him

Officers were called at just after midday and after finding the man in Sheppey Leisure Complex off Broadway in Sheerness, they discovered what he was actually wielding was two toy guns.

A police spokesman said the man was given “strong words of advice” by the officers but “no offences were deemed to have been committed”.
