It is understood the van careered off the road, near the junction with Newman Drive, and struck the front of a family’s home.

A mum was indoors with her four children when she heard a loud bang.

The impact took out a window and much of the brickwork which fell into the living room.

Neighbours reported hearing a big thud before seeing the driver climbing out of the van.

The emergency services were called, including fire crews who helped pull the van away from the house.

The condition of the driver is yet to be confirmed.

A neighbour who did not want to be named said: “It was a shock to everyone how it happened so sudden.

“The main road down the side of Adisham Green, there are always cars going down the road way too quick.

“They need to put speed bumps in or speed cameras up to stop this from happening again.”

Police and the fire service have been approached for more details.
