A nationwide 24/7 gym chain will be opening a new branch in a town centre.
PureGym will be moving into Sittingbourne Retail Park, replacing Bensons for Beds which is set to close.
Shoppers have been told by Bensons for Beds employees that the store, which sits in between Pets at Home and Dunlem Mill, will shut for the final time on Saturday, December 9.
Pure Gym says the facility will be fitted with more than 220 pieces of equipment, including free weights, fixed resistance machines, and cardio equipment.
It is unknown when PureGym will take over the premises or when it will welcome its first members.
A PureGym spokesperson said the unit will become a “fantastic facility for the people of Sittingbourne and the surrounding areas”.
They added: “PureGym is excited to be bringing affordable, flexible fitness to Sittingbourne.
“The brand-new gym will be located in Sittingbourne Retail Park and will provide members with 24/7 access to state-of-the-art equipment, a range of exercise classes and PTs to help them achieve their fitness goals, all at great value.
“This will help support the mental and physical wellbeing of the people of Sittingbourne and the surrounding areas.
“Keep an eye out for our opening offer.”
Bensons for Beds has been contacted for comment.
