The Range set to take over Homebase unit on Sittingbourne Retail Park

Home and leisure giants The Range are to move into a retail park.

The high street favourites will be the new occupants of the Homebase site in Sittingbourne Retail Park.

Staff have told customers about the changeover although when this will happen has not been revealed by either firm.

It follows the news in November that Homebase was going into administration and The Range, owned by retail magnate Chris Dawson’s CDS (Superstores International), was buying 70 of its stores.

There had been fears that thousands of jobs across the country would be lost.

But staff at the Sittingbourne site are either set to stay at the outlet or be offered jobs at other The Range stores.

It will join Dunelm, M&S Food Hall, Halfords, Pets at Home, Tapi Carpets, Currys and PureGym.

Homebase and The Range declined to comment.
