Firefighters spent an hour putting out a kitchen fire which started after a pan of oil caught alight.
The blaze started at a home in Recreation Way in Kemsley, near Sittingbourne, at 12.35pm today (August 7).
Two crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to put out the flames.
One person suffered a slight burn to their hand and was checked over by medics as a precaution.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service explained to residents what to do in the event of a pan fire.
He said: “Always take extra care in the kitchen and make sure not to get distracted when you’re cooking or leave it unattended.
“If a pan of oil does catch alight, don’t attempt to move it, or throw water on it. Turn off the heat if you can do it safely, leave the property and call 999 for the fire service.”
