Part of a former town centre supermarket building has been earmarked for homes.

The first floor of 10-14 Sittingbourne High Street, which used to be occupied by Iceland, is set to become six flats.

The store shut in July last year and has been vacant since.

It was sold for more than £500,000 by auctioneers Clive Emson in March.

This was after it went on the market for a guide price of £325,000.

The plans were lodged to Swale council by Platinum Level Holdings Ltd on Monday, July 29 and include six one-bedroom flats.

These will be 41sq m in size and will have a bathroom and a kitchen.

Meanwhile, the ground floor will remain a commercial unit.
