A road through the centre of a town is set to close for work which will last almost six weeks.
The scheme for Sittingbourne High Street includes reconstructing ramps which are deteriorating.
The work on the one-way street, which will cost £60,000, will be carried out in two phases.
The first will start on Monday, February 3 and will be between Central Avenue and the junction with Station Street. It is due to be finished by Sunday, February 16.
Drivers can go around the back of the High Street via West Street, Park Road, Albany Road, Avenue of Remembrance and Central Avenue.
The second phase will start the following day with the road shutting on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between Central Avenue and the junction which connects the road with Crown Quay Lane and Bell Road, at the former New Century Cinema building.
This will be in place until March 16.
There are no alternative routes but residential and emergency access will be maintained.
Kent County Council is overseeing the project, which includes reconstructing the existing ramps by removing existing block paving and resurfacing.
It will also see damaged kerbs revamped and areas of sunken blockwork will be lifted and relaid.
