Three taken to hospital after A253 Canterbury Road crash

Three people have been taken to hospital after a crash on a busy route.

The A253 Canterbury Road, Monkton, was closed from the A299 to Millers Lane, after a collision at about 9am this morning which saw two cars collide, blocking off both lanes of traffic.

The carriageway, which links Canterbury and Thanet, has since reopened with both vehicles involved recovered.

An ambulance spokesperson said: “SECAmb were called shortly after 9am this morning to reports of a RTC in Monkton.

“Crews arrived on scene and assessed and treated three patients before taking them to the William Harvey Hospital for further medical treatment.”

Kent Police also confirmed its attendance at the scene.
