Co-op worker at Westgate-on-Sea taken to hospital after assault involving bottle

A Co-op worker was taken to hospital after reportedly being struck by a bottle while on shift.

The alleged assault took place at the branch in Station Road, Westgate-on-Sea on Tuesday evening.

Officers say they were called to the scene at about 6.10pm, with the worker suffering injuries and requiring hospital treatment following the attack.

Police released CCTV footage of a man they believed could help with inquiries, and who has now been identified.
