Shocking footage has captured the moment a bus went off-road to escape a traffic jam.
The Stagecoach double-decker was spotted driving on the pavement and grass – while carrying passengers – to get around queuing cars in Margate yesterday.
Stagecoach bus leaves road in traffic rage
The bus company is now investigating the "concerning" incident.
The roads around the town's seafront had been thrown into chaos for several days after emergency gas works shut of one of the main routes.
Gas distribution firm SGN sealed off Marine Terrace on Saturday "for everyone's safety", so it could carry out the repairs outside amusement park Dreamland.
A diversion was put in place, but there have been severe delays on a network of roads around the area.
The delays were so severe that they led to what an eyewitness described as "a crazy road rage" incident at rush-hour yesterday.
In the footage, the bus can be seen leaving Tivoli Road and driving for several metres on a grass verge and pavement.
Then, as onlookers watch on, the vehicle drives onto the grass near Howdens Joinery, near the turn-off to Tivoli Industrial estate.
A spokesman for Stagecoach said: "We are very concerned by what this footage shows and are formally investigating the incident."
The Marine Terrace road closure has now been lifted.
