Delays travelling to QEQM Hospital in Margate expected as A254 Ramsgate Road to close for two weeks for Southern Water works

Patients should expect delays when visiting a Kent hospital in the next two weeks due to water works outside the facility.

The road will be shut outside the QEQM Hospital in Margate from Monday with Ramsgate Road closed from the hospital entrance to Nash Court Road.

Shutting to accommodate Southern Water, the project is set to last for at least a fortnight with through traffic being diverted via Westwood.

Access to the QEQM along the A255 St Peter’s Road will still be possible though there is likely to be widespread delays thanks to the knock-on effect of the main road closure.

A spokesperson for the East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust said: “Please be prepared for potential delays in the area and leave extra time if you are coming to the hospital.”
