IKEA and Tesco are set to team up to offer pick-up points for the Swedish retailer in Kent.
The home furnishings titan has confirmed customers will soon be able to pick up goods from Tesco stores in Dover and Broadstairs.
The update comes following successful trials of the scheme across the country – with 12 towns being picked to test out the facility, including Aylesford which will remain open.
Currently, there are no IKEA stores in Kent, with the nearest one sat just across the Dartford Crossing at Lakeside Retail Park in West Thurrock, Essex.
The sites are expected to be ready by next autumn and form part of wider plans to provide as many as 70 pick-up points all over the UK.
Customers placing orders online via the IKEA website will be offered the ability to ‘Collect from Partner’ once they have gone through the usual checkout process.
They will then be able to collect their online orders from a designated area in the car park of the superstores – which will sport IKEA branding.
Orders costing more than £100 will be free to collect, but all other orders will cost £5.
Jakob Bertilsson for IKEA UK, said: "This national roll-out of mobile pick-up points is an exciting milestone in our partnership with Tesco, which will bring IKEA closer to people across all parts of the UK.
“As customer shopping behaviours change and evolve, we will continue to grow our service offer to make shopping with IKEA more convenient, accessible, and affordable than ever before."
Whilst IKEA has yet to open a store in Kent, its multi-million-pound warehouse in Dartford opened in May.
