Police have shut off a children’s play area where a man was reportedly raped last night.

Investigations are being carried out at the Viking Ship Play Park in Ethelbert Crescent, Cliftonville, Margate, following the suspected attack.

It is said to have taken place between 10pm on Monday and 12.50am this morning.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Kent Police is making enquiries in the Ethelbert Crescent area of Margate, following a report that a man was raped.

“Officers are working to establish the circumstances of the incident.”
