Two charged with attempted murder after man stabbed in Cowper Road, Margate

Two suspects have been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing.

Police were called to Cowper Road in Margate shortly after 6.30pm on Friday following a report a man had injuries consistent with stab wounds.

Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a man was taken to a London hospital via air ambulance where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

On Saturday, officers charged 22-year-old Leigh Moxam with attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place, assault on an emergency worker and criminal damage.

Donna Green, 44, was charged on the same day with attempted murder and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Moxam, of Railway Road, Newhaven in East Sussex, and Green, of no fixed address, were remanded in custody.

They are both due to appear before Margate Magistrates’ Court on today.

Anyone with information relevant to the ongoing investigation, including CCTV and doorbell footage - who has not yet spoken to police - is urged to come forward.
