Four people have been rescued from a car during flooding.

The driver and passengers found themselves stuck in their vehicle in floodwater in Darman Lane, Paddock Wood.

Two fire engines and a water safety unit were sent to the incident.

Firefighters wearing drysuits helped the people to safety.

They were then passed into the hands of paramedics as a precaution.

Motorists are advised to avoid the area while it remains flooded, which is likely to be overnight, and to check for traffic updates before travelling.

Kent Fire and Rescue is also reminding people not to drive or walk through floodwater, as it can often be a lot deeper than it looks.
