Two festivals will combine for one for giant party this weekend.
The Dover Music Festival and the Port of Dover Community Regatta have come together for two days of seafront fun.
The regatta will include boat races and displays on Saturday, while the music festival will be held over both days at Cruise Terminal 1, Dover Western Docks.
Now in its fourth year, the regatta will include music, dance displays, a climbing wall and face painting as well as displays by the emergency services. There’s also the Dover Port Dash where teams race across the harbour in Thames cutters, raising funds for Dover Sea Cadets.
There will be music inspired by the Rio Olympics on the seafront arena between 2.15pm and 2.45pm.
Another part of the regatta is the classic motor show, with cars dating back to the 1930s and there will be a Spitfire display by the Old Flying Machine Company.
The music festival will be headlined by 1980s hitmakers The Christians, known for hits Harvest for the World, Hooverville and Forgotten Town, on the Saturday, and Ian Dury’s band The Blockheads on Sunday.
The Dualers plus Dover-based groups the Pistol Bullet Blues Band and User Friendly are among the nine other bands taking part in the festival.
